“new low” is Novulent’s latest single exploring desperate love, toxicity, and personal evolution.

Genre-defying artist Novulent shares “new low,” the emotionally raw first single from their forthcoming third album VOL.3, out now via Capitol Records. The release marks the start of a new chapter, both sonically and personally, for the 20-year-old Texas-based creative force.

Novulent describes the track’s inspiration: “The song talks about being so desperate to be with someone that you’ve hit a new low mentally to stay with them. Peeling back their personality more and more, you see how awful they are but, in desperation and wishful thinking, you still stay with them, accepting what they are – a ‘beautiful poison.’”

Their forthcoming album VOL.3 promises to unfold like a cinematic coming-of-age narrative, taking cues from early 2000s films like Thirteen and All About Lily Chou-Chou. Each song, Novulent says, will portray a different moment in the spectrum of a romantic relationship, from infatuation to collapse. “It’s never black and white, it’s always grey.”

Novulent’s breakout moment came with VOL.1’s “scars” (111M+ Spotify streams), followed by VOL.2’s introspective “soul ties.” Now, with the VOL.3 era underway and a successful headline tour under their belt—including a standout finale in New York—Novulent is stepping into a new level of artistry.
