Oliver Heldens taps Julia Church for “Ruins,” blending vulnerability and dance-floor energy.

Oliver Heldens returns with “Ruins,” a powerful collaboration with singer-songwriter Julia Church, out now via Ministry of Sound. The track sees the producer move toward more emotionally immersive territory, guided by Church’s reflective songwriting.

Heldens has long been a fixture in global dance music, known for festival-ready anthems. “Ruins” shows a more nuanced side, with layered production that allows the vocals to shine.

“When I got the first demo version of this song from the brilliant Julia Church, it hit me right away… while we still kept such a timeless feel to it,” Heldens commented.

Church’s previous work includes collaborations with Diplo, Armin van Buuren, and CamelPhat, bringing a wealth of experience to her feature on this track. Her delivery on “Ruins” underscores the song’s balance of melancholy and release.

As Heldens continues his world tour—with stops at The Indy 500, Pacha Ibiza, and F1 Dutch Grand Prix—this latest single adds a powerful emotional dimension to his catalog.
