Rainbow Kitten Surprise Reveal “Dang” – A New Single Paired with a Nashville-Based Video

Rainbow Kitten Surprise share “Dang,” a vibrant single with a story-driven video about musical discovery.
Rainbow Kitten Surprise have released a brand-new track, “Dang,” through Atlantic Records, marking another step in the band’s ever-evolving creative journey. Known for their bold storytelling and genre-defying sound, the group continues to explore new emotional territory with this latest single.
“Dang” blends intricate guitars and a rising tempo with an infectious hook. Ela Melo leads the vocal performance, bringing urgency and texture to a song that feels both personal and expansive.
Alongside the track, the band unveiled a music video that follows a couple navigating the streets of East Nashville. On a quest to find a secret RKS concert, they encounter heartfelt moments and brief detours—echoing the spirit of Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist while giving it a localized, queer-focused update.
In the band’s words:
“When we wrote this, we envisioned tracking it with Jay Joyce and it’s pretty legendary that actually came to be… For your enjoyment, here’s ‘Dang.’”
“Dang” stands out not only for its catchy composition but also for its blend of musical and visual narrative. It continues Rainbow Kitten Surprise’s legacy of releasing work that resonates on multiple levels—emotional, lyrical, and communal.
