Sydney acid rock band Behind You unveil “Cell,” a gritty track exploring inner chaos, shot across the US on iPhone.

Sydney’s acid rock provocateurs Behind You are back with their latest single “Cell,” a furious yet focused piece of sonic storytelling that distills their genre-defying sound into a visceral three-minute experience.

“How do you even communicate with yourself? Is dealing with the inner critic a process of eliminating them, or befriending them?”

The track’s experimental energy is matched by a visually arresting video, filmed on iPhone over multiple days in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Directed by Gabriel Gasparinatos and Harry Welsh, the short film captures a psychological battle through scenes of midnight car rides and casino isolation.

Behind You’s sound draws from artists like Total Control, Dreamcrusher, and Snapped Ankles, merging punk sensibilities with digital noise and a confrontational edge. Since their 2017 formation, the group—Frank Fisher, Joe Goddard, and Dylan Clay—have built a following through explosive live shows and creative collaborations.

Praised by Rolling Stone, ABC Arts, VICE, and Acclaim, Behind You remain key players in Australia’s underground scene, linking up with acts like BAYANG (tha Bushranger), Teether, and Rako of 1300.

Following standout sets at BIGSOUND and SXSW Sydney, Behind You’s trajectory continues to climb—one confrontational release at a time.
