Debut EP ‘Hard Gloss’ Showcases Beks’ Bold Pop Evolution and Inner Strength

Beks releases debut EP ‘Hard Gloss’, pairing fierce production with fearless lyrical authenticity.
Pop artist Beks introduces Hard Gloss—a debut EP bursting with emotion, energy, and identity. Released alongside the single Who You Kidding, it captures her evolution into a front-facing artist.
Known for her live energy and queer visibility, Beks took full creative control with PALMR at the helm of production. Tim Rowkins and Robin Schmidt brought technical finesse to a deeply personal body of work.
“I’d spent so much time writing for and with others, I needed to find my own voice again. There was no safety net this time. Just me, backing myself. ‘Hard Gloss’ is what came out of that,” she says.
Lead single Who You Kidding cuts through with honesty and gloss, reflecting internal realizations.
“It’s the sound of high-voltage empowerment. Part of it was written under a rusty umbrella on my manager’s balcony in the middle of a lightning storm in London. I dropped all creative filters and let the truth drive the song. That bridge? It’s my proudest moment,” says Beks.
Tracks like I Knew A Girl, Melodrama, and Butter affirm her range—emotional, vibrant, and deeply resonant.
