Daniel Seavey’s Second Wind Marks a New Chapter of Artistic Freedom

Daniel Seavey releases Second Wind, a debut album full of personal storytelling, featuring “Lose Me Like You Mean It.” Out now via Atlantic Records.
Daniel Seavey’s highly anticipated solo debut album, Second Wind, is officially here. Out now via Atlantic Records, the 12-track project sees Seavey embracing full creative control, crafting a deeply personal album that blends pop-rock influences with introspective storytelling.
Describing the meaning behind the album, Seavey shares, “This album is about a boy desperately clinging on to his youth while life is trying to force him to grow up. Making these songs helped shift my perspective—it reminded me to embrace optimism again.”
The album features standout single “Lose Me Like You Mean It” alongside fan-favorites “Gateway Drug” and “The Older You Get.” Seavey spent much of 2024 previewing the project while touring with Benson Boone and Dean Lewis, as well as delivering a festival-defining set at Lollapalooza.
Having co-founded Why Don’t We in 2016, Seavey’s early career was marked by platinum success, sold-out tours, and billions of global streams. However, legal battles and personal hardships nearly derailed his trajectory. In 2023, his Dancing In The Dark EP introduced his solo artistry despite creative restrictions, earning praise from Rolling Stone and Billboard.
Now fully independent, Seavey embarks on his Second Wind Tour, beginning March 18 in Dallas, TX. With this album, he reclaims his voice and delivers his most personal and ambitious work to date. Second Wind is out now, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
