Folk B*tch Trio share “Cathode Ray” and announce their debut album “Now Would Be A Good Time”, out July 25.

Naarm-based band Folk B*tch Trio have announced their debut album, Now Would Be A Good Time, coming July 25 via Jagjaguwar, and released their latest single and video, “Cathode Ray.”

The song opens with soft harmonies and builds into a raw meditation on physical and emotional turmoil.

“It expresses a feeling of being trapped in myself,” says Gracie Sinclair, “and wanting to break out of that so violently that I’m literally talking about opening up a body viscerally.”

“Cathode Ray” follows the widely praised “The Actor,” which was featured in Rolling Stone and Beats Per Minute.

Produced in Auckland with Tom Healy, the album is a fusion of gnarled Americana, folk rock, and baroque pop, with stripped-back arrangements designed to highlight the band’s rich vocal chemistry and lyrical precision.

Formed by longtime friends and collaborators Sinclair, Pilkington, and Peverelle, the group has toured internationally with acts like King Gizzard, Alex G, and Julia Jacklin, and earned a devoted following through their honest, genre-bending sound.

Following their global tour dates, Folk B*tch Trio will launch their Australia and New Zealand headline tour this September.
