Dear Father marks Idia Aisien’s powerful UK theatre debut alongside Nollywood icons in a moving drama.

From media star to rising force in acting, Idia Aisien is charting a remarkable path. Her upcoming UK stage debut in Dear Father—running June 12–14 at Fireworks Factory in London—places her at the heart of an emotionally resonant production about love, grief, and the ties that bind.

The play also stars Richard Mofe-Damijo, Kunle Remi, and Tobi Bakre, bringing together some of Nigeria’s most recognizable talents.

“This role came at a time when I was personally reflecting on the importance of the relationships that shape us—especially those with our parents,” Aisien shared. “Dear Father is more than a play; it’s a statement about love, loss, and the role fathers play in helping their daughters find their voice.”

Aisien’s impact in film began with Nneka the Pretty Serpent and now expands to the stage—where she continues to represent a new generation of African storytellers whose voices resonate globally.

Her presence in this production highlights a broader cultural evolution, as African stories find homes on stages far from their origins, told with truth, power, and purpose.
