Joe Average Resurfaces with “Panic Buttons” — A Revival 35 Years in the Making

Long-lost rave trio Joe Average drop “Panic Buttons,” a track born of reunion, rhythm, and raw soul.
Joe Average has re-emerged with “Panic Buttons,” their first official release in over 30 years. Launched on July 8, 2025, the song brings the energy of early UK rave into a modern sonic framework—complete with heartfelt origin.
Formed in 1990 as Joshua Cry’s Wolf, the band—Rich, Mad Mick, and Prof—cut their teeth in legendary London venues. A reunion in October 2023, 34 years to the day of their last gig, sparked their return. “It was like the universe was telling us to finish what we started,” shares Rich.
The new track features production by Rich, signature sax from Mick, and haunting keyboard work from Prof. Faber’s guest vocal injects soulful edge, bringing their legacy full-circle.
After a life-altering motorcycle accident, Rich turned to entrepreneurship but never lost his musical drive. “Panic Buttons” is not just a comeback; it’s a reclaiming of identity.
