Jordan Firstman Turns DM Confessions Into Pop Gold on Debut Album “Secrets”

“Secrets”, the debut album by Jordan Firstman, is here—featuring real secrets, bold sounds, and famous guests.
Jordan Firstman has built a career on unexpected honesty, sharp satire, and infectious charisma. With the release of his debut album Secrets, now out via Capitol Records, he channels those same qualities into a musical project inspired by anonymous fan confessions.
Firstman began the concept in 2020, inviting followers to submit their “deepest, darkest, and dirtiest” secrets via Instagram. These real-life entries became the basis for the album’s songs—each track named after a submission, including the lead single “I’m quitting my job tomorri.” The song, featuring a UK garage pulse and melodic tension, captures a moment of relational rupture with a mix of playfulness and poignancy.
The record features contributions from Rufus Wainwright, Julia Fox, Rachel Sennott, Suki Waterhouse, Jimmy Pop, and Firstman’s mother. Firstman lets the secret dictate the sound, resulting in a wide-ranging sonic palette shaped by producers Brad Oberhofer, Blake Slatkin, Zach Dawes, and Sega Bodega.
From funk-rock and country to jazz and post-punk, Secrets doesn’t sit still. Instead, it moves through musical terrain with the same ease Firstman brings to his Impressions series, which earned him nearly a million followers and praise from outlets like DAZED and Vulture.
With roles in Rotting in the Sun, Ms. Marvel, and the upcoming HBO series from Rachel Sennott, Firstman is constantly evolving. Secrets is a rare debut: raw, funny, honest, and completely his own.
