Kalsey Kulyk explores heartache and nostalgia on new release, out now via Universal Canada.

Canadian country artist Kalsey Kulyk shares her new release featuring “Western Wind” and a touching cover of The Judds’ “Grandpa (Tell Me ‘Bout The Good Old Days),” both available now via Universal Music Canada. The pairing reflects her ability to balance introspective songwriting with nods to timeless classics.

Speaking about the writing journey behind “Western Wind,” Kulyk reveals: “Western Wind was a song that I started myself and had to walk away from because I wanted to give it my all. So a month later I was in Nashville in the writers room with Patricia Conroy and Dave Thomson and I threw this song out there and they loved it.”

Kulyk’s interpretation of “Grandpa” adds emotional weight to the release, carrying a sense of comfort and nostalgia. “‘Grandpa’ was a song I used to sing all the time as a little girl,” she says. “Every time I hear this song or it pops in my head it feels like a warm blanket reminding me of my childhood.”

This project follows similar covers of “Cowboy Take Me Away” and “I May Hate Myself In The Morning,” reinforcing her connection to country music’s roots.

Later this year, she will open for Wynonna Judd at the Energetic County Fair. Known for her bright tone and heartfelt lyrics, Kulyk continues to gain momentum in the Canadian country music scene.
