Kassidy Releases “Useless,” a Soulful Single About Emotional Disconnect

Kassidy shares “Useless,” a heartfelt single about one-sided relationships. Music video out May 30.
Pop-soul artist Kassidy unveils his newest single, “Useless,” out now via Universal Music Canada. Raw, heartfelt, and emotionally resonant, the track explores the sadness and frustration of putting in effort when it’s not returned.
“‘Useless’ was inspired by friends who don’t reach out anymore or won’t make the time or effort the way they used to,” Kassidy explains. “It’s about that feeling of always being the one to reach out.”
During the songwriting process, the meaning evolved:
“Somewhere along the way in the writing process, I realized that this concept could also be fitting for a romantic relationship where one of the partners is feeling let down or used.”
The music video, arriving May 30, visually captures this emotional imbalance, with Kassidy portraying one half of a strained relationship. A live acoustic video—featuring JaRon Marshall of the Black Pumas—will also be released across Kassidy’s channels, highlighting the song’s raw emotional core.
With more music and performances to come, 2025 is shaping up to be a pivotal year for Kassidy. Blending soulful vocals with honest lyricism, he continues to emerge as one of Canada’s most promising pop-soul voices.
