mgk drops “cliché,” an upbeat single with retro visuals, MTV support, and a teaser for his next album.

mgk opens a new chapter with the release of “cliché,” a feel-good alt-pop single that blends his signature emotional delivery with nostalgic flair. The track, co-written with SlimXX, BazeXX, and Nick Long, premiered across MTV Live, MTVU, and Paramount’s Times Square billboards.

The video, directed by Sam Cahill and choreographed by Sean Bankhead, pairs carefree visuals with throwback energy from the ‘90s and early 2000s, spotlighting mgk in a refreshingly unguarded moment.

Earlier this week, fans were prompted to pre-save the track on his site—where the album title was subtly teased.

Before the release, mgk dropped viral covers of “Iris” (Goo Goo Dolls), “Empty Out Your Pockets” (Juice WRLD), and “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” (Green Day), signaling the emotional core of his next project.

He’ll headline the 30th Anniversary Vans Warped Tour with shows in Washington, DC, and Orlando, FL, nodding to his punk roots while charting new sonic territory.

Having achieved two Billboard 200 No. 1 albums, Platinum certifications, and a Grammy nomination, mgk’s return with “cliché” sets the tone for a defining summer.
